Ramblings + OOTD: SUMMERTIME MADE PROMISES IT KNEW IT COULDN'T KEEP.

Hi my dears! It was such lovely weather today in England so I had lovely day out with my mother shopping in the sunshine. It was my birthday yesterday (May 1st)  but since I was working it didn't feel too special so I made the most of today and the gorgeous blue skies! I got a lot of lovely things for my birthday and since I got some money as a gift from my Great Gran I figured I better go and spend it immediately on clothes / accessories whilst I had the day off!

The lyrics in the title are from The Last Shadow Puppets' Calm Like You from their album The Age Of The Understatement which is one album I love when the weather gets nice.

So me and mum hit Primark first (forth time in a month - oops) and then got some lunch by the marina and it was so sunny that I had to break out my newly purchased sunglasses and take off my cardigan (although I did have to put it back on when it got a bit breezy)I also manned up and got a cartilage piercing today, since I have been after one for ages; then we did some more shopping!

Mmm -  my divine iced mocha

One of today's purchases are some printed trousers from H&M because I love my other two pairs so much that I had to go back and see if they had any more prints I liked; which they did. So as soon as I got home I obviously had to try them on and style them up; so I thought I'd get some OOTD photos whilst taking Ruby (the springerdoodle) out for a walk tonight.

CARDIGAN - TOPSHOP / TROUSERS - H&M

Oh my do I love these trousers. I know the print may not be everybody's cup of tea but I think they're pretty cool. I got 50% of these in H&M's mid season sale;  they're originally £9.99 and I think I got them for around £4.99. I'm not sure if the sale is in all H&M's because I can't see the offer online but they do have them for full price when I checked their website.

RUCKSACK - Primark (sale)

I got this rucksack (or backpack) in the Nottingham Primark for just £5 and they also had it in Navy. They didn't have this in my local Primark so perhaps this is only available in larger stores.

DOC MARTENS - birthday present

I have wanted a pair of Doc Martens forever so I cheekily asked for a pair for my birthday et voila! They are the Pascal model and are in the colour shiraz.

NECKLACE - New Look

This is the first item I have bought from New Look in ages! I am not really a fan of their clothes but when I popped in a week or so back I just couldn't resist this spike necklace with the lime green / yellow colouring as it is exactly the kind of necklace I have wanted for a while. I would definitely recommend you check out New Look's jewellery range if you're looking for some statement necklaces because they stock so many styles at such reasonable prices.

SUNGLASSES - Primark / LIPS - Lilac Champagne by Revlon

The sunglasses are another purchase of today, they are a really cute lilac and peach design and I also bought these in the classic tortoiseshell print. I buy so many Primark sunglasses during the summer period; just because they are only £1 and I love having a variation to style with different outfits. I think this particular style looks pretty retro and the lilac/peach colour is so great for the whole pastel trend this spring/summer.

BRACELETS - Primark & eBay / WATCH - Michael Kors / RINGS (left to right) Vintage, eBay above knuckle rings, TOPSHOP spike rings, Primark skull, vintage amber ring, handmade domino ring / NAILS - Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Papaya.

EARRINGS - Primark & Piercing Shop

As you may be able to tell my ear is still pretty red here but thankfully it doesn't hurt. The place I got it done uses a freezing solution before they put the needle in so the only pain I actually experienced was the sting of the numbing solution. I've had a cartilage/helix piercing done before but I didn't let it heal properly and obviously it closed up straight away, so this time I will be very patient and allow it to heal properly.

Hope you all had a lovely day and nice weather too!

love amy xx
