OOTD: Although we're tongue tied & breathless, we won't let our worries dictate who we are.

Hi my dears, hope you are all well. I had a day off today with which I made a DIY floral garland headband so I thought I'd do and OOTD post to show you it. If you're wondering what the lyrics used in the title are it is Don't Forget Who You Are by Miles Kane. This song has inspired me to try and look at things from a 'glass half full' perspective, by which I mean I am going to try and embrace things in a positive light and make the best of bad situations.

MAXI SKIRT - eBay / BIKER JACKET - eBay / JERSEY CROP - Primark

These photos were taken at around half seven at night and although it was pretty breezy it was still quite warm for English weather, well warm enough for a crop top anyway; although my body temperature may have been a bit disorientated considering I'd only just stepped out of a boiling hot bath!

BELT - Primark

I have wanted a floral headband ever since I first saw Lana Del Rey's Born To Die video, but everywhere I have looked they have been so bloody expensive! So since I had some spare flowers in the sewing box and a hairband I never wear I thought I'd team them up to create my Lana inspired garland; what do you think?

I feel ever so spring in these pictures, what with my daffodil background and all. I kept the colour scheme pretty muted today because I wanted the main focus of my outfit to be the headband. The jersey material and flats keep the outfit pretty laidback, tan belt gives a vintage feel and the necklace and the hairband just give this whole outfit quite a bit of edge. This is the first time I have ever worn a maxi skirt and have totally been missing out! They are so comfy and stylish plus they are great for spring weather because they are long enough to keep you warm but light enough to keep you cool (does that even make sense?)

FACE - combination of Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in 'True Ivory' and Bourjois Healthy Mix Gel Serum foundation in '52 Vanilla'. / CHEEKS - Topshop blush in 'Flush'.

LEOPARD FLATS - Primark

NECKLACE - Primark

I think this necklace looks so expensive and yet it was just £4! It reminds me of a necklace I saw Rihanna wearing once and since I adore Rihanna's grungy/edgy/sexy style I loved this as soon as I saw it on the stand.

FLORAL HEADBAND - DIY / EARRINGS - Primark

EYES - Rimmel Lash Accelerator Express mascara / LIPS - Rimmel Apocolips in 'Celestial'

Hmm, doing this post I have realised I am pretty brand loyal; Rimmel for make-up and Primark for accessories. Perhaps it has something to do with their reasonable prices!

love amy xx
