IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #3

The third consecutive Friday I have done this kind of post which means I have been true to my word! So what things have I been loving since last Friday?

ESSIE FIJI. So I succumbed to all the beauty hype and bought this cult nail varnish. I have been wearing this shade all week so I must like it. I have to say I'm not a big fan of the application and it did take 3 coats to build the colour but I can't fault the finished product. The colour is beautiful - a milky pastel pink. Perfect for summer and it will go with most outfits. Lovely

ARCTIC MONKEYS - DO I WANNA KNOW? Oh my sweet lord! A new song! I died and went to heaven when I saw this on my YouTube subscription page. Arctic Monkeys have always been and always will be my favourite band and I really really fucking like this song a hell of a lot. It's heavier than the songs on 'Suck It And See', it's of a similar vein to R U MINE? which I also liked a hell of a lot. The lyrics are perfectly poetic as usual and delivered with Mr Turner's irresistible Sheffield twang. Tell you what instead of me passionately declaring my love for this band and their new song how about I just give you the link to it? CLICK HERE.

COMPANY MAGAZINE. New issue! This is the only magazine I buy monthly because I just all round like it. I like the layout, the colours, the paper, the photography and the articles. Plus Company place a great deal of focus on bloggers which I really admire. Each issue also has a different patterned spine which means the more you collect the prettier it looks on your shelf. How cute!

MY NAME ON A BOTTLE. Wow this marketing campaign is so simple yet so effective for Coca Cola. Of course we are all going to buy the drink if it has our name on it, I mean it would be rude not to. I rarely drink Coke and yet even I have bought a bottle. I won't be drinking it though, it will be a decoration on my shelf forever!

MONOCHROME! I have bought a hell of a lot of black and white wardrobe staples recently. I just love how easy monochrome is to style and wear. Plus monochrome is such a timeless trend. I'm really excited to mix and match all my monochrome pieces and clash prints.

KUKEE JEWELLERY. I am so glad I clicked on a link to this online jewellery store! Everything they sell is just so cute and quirky. From dinosaur pendants to planet rings to spike chokers and druzy rings. Plus most things are under £5, so it's really hard to stop clicking 'buy'.  I will be doing a blog post on everything I bought from there just as soon as my second order arrives so stay tuned for that. In the meantime click here if you wanna check Kukee out. The P&P is only £2.50 too, so you don't even get stung on delivery costs!

TOPSHOP 'INNOCENT' I think I bought this back in March and it is one lipstick that I wear at least twice a week. It's a really pretty dusky petal pink that has a velvety matte texture plus it's really creamy and moisturising. Ahh and just look at that packaging it looks so pretty.

And I guess this concludes another 'IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE'.

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #2

My second Friday favourites post (so far so good). So what have been my favourite things this week? Let's find out:

WHATE HAVE I BEEN WATCHING? Dates. A creation of Brian Elsey (skins, shameless) as part of Channel 4's Mating Season. Dates is a series of linked but separate mini-dramas about the blind dates of potential couples who have met via online dating. It is beautifully filmed, scripted and acted and it really is just a pleasure to watch because the cast are sublime and it feels so natural. I can't wait for it to continue next Tuesday. Watch it on 4oD here!

NAILS? Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Prickly Pear. I love this colour, it is the perfect shade of lilac for me with the added bonus of the gelly hi-shine finish. I have to admit though that as delicious as the shade is the name certainly is not - Prickly Pear? What are they and are they even lilac? Still, this nail varnish will be a summer staple for me.

CRUMBLED ROLO COOKIE ICE CREAM - Oh yes, the most simple dessert ever. All you need is some ice-cream (just basic vanilla) and some Rolo cookies (or any other kind - it is just as delicious with white choc chip) then you simply crumble your cookie over the ice-cream et viola deliciousness in a bowl!

SONG? Jagwar Ma - The Throw (listen here) This was the free iTunes download this week! I fell in love with this song about halfway through my first listen because it is so euphoric and summery. Jagwar Ma are a duo from Sydney and this particular song inspires the loose limbed style of dance made infamous by bands of that early-90's Madchester scene. I'm pretty pleased I found out about this band and it will definitely be getting a lot of play this summer.

THIS DRESS FROM ASOS. Oh yes, I have found my perfect every day summer dress for £17.50! It is a smock style which I think suits my body shape plus it's tie dye which I like a lot for the summer months.

THIS WEEK I HAVE BEEN READING - A Certain Age by Rebecca Ray. This is another re-read for me and it is of a similar nature to last week's book The Adults by Alison Espach. It is basically a coming of age novel about a fourteen year old girl as she deals with her relationships, alcohol, drugs, sex, self image and emotional and sexual abuse. It is quite a hard read but it feels natural and although the subject matter is extreme (fourteen year old having sex with a 27 year old man) it is still relatable and there is quite a bit of humour in it albeit dark. This is actually one of my favourite books just because it is so well written and does stay with you once read. This is from a child's perspective and does contain graphic language and imagery so if your not comfortable with that kind of thing then probably don't read it.

JUMPSUITS. I need one! How cute are jumpsuits, you can dress 'em up or down and they are just instant style. I think they are a great alternative to skirts. shorts and dresses in the summer and I am now on the hunt to find my perfect one.

SOAP&GLORY SUGAR CRUSH BODY WASH. This smells so bloody good. It smells like sugar and lime and just general loveliness. It's a fresh scent for summer and SOAP&GLORY body washes last me quite a number of months.

GETTING MY HAIR DONE. My hair is successfully dip-dyed / ombred now. Before it was just the bottom of my underneath layers that were bleached and it never properly blended in with the rest of my hair, but now my lovely hairdresser has blended all my hair in with a light caramel brown.

MAOM SWEETS. Mmmmm. I have demolished a bag of the chews and these are all that is left of the three bags bought yesterday...oops!

So what have you been loving this past week?

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE.

Welcome to my Friday favourites post about everything I have been loving this week. So I will try and do this kind of post every Friday just to let all you lovely people know what I have been loving in that week. Now notice that I said 'try' there because after all I cannot guarantee such things what with me being a natural procrastinator and all!

ON WITH THE FAVOURITES

THE SUN! Okay so I know us Brits seem to obsess over the weather but can I just say that seeing the sunshine this week has been bloody lovely. I like the summertime. I like how it feels on my skin and I love looking up to see blue skies. I like walking barefoot over hot pavements and making daisy chains. When the sun comes out there seems to be this air of childlike excitement in the air that makes everybody come alive plus ICE CREAM!

REVLON LIP BUTTER IN 'STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE'. I didn't even swatch this in the shop I just bought it because of the name (oh how naughty of me). It is a perfect everyday colour plus it has a really luxurious creamy feel

THE TRAILER FOR SKINS SERIES 7! Arghhh so fucking excited for this! I have grown up with Skins and I am sad to see it ending but it is the right time to say goodbye. The finale series has my three favourite characters in, but now all grown up and I just can't bloody wait to see what's happened to Cook (I so would), Effy and Cassie. WATCH IT HERE.

GRUNGY CLOTHES. What can I say? I love bohemian grunge style plus I am thinking of maybe doing a Spring/Summer grunge inspired lookbook post.

OREO MILKSHAKES. Oh my oh my! Oreo milkshakes taste like heaven crushed up into a blender; I cannot believe I have not made myself one before this week. Here it is in all it's delicious glory.

FANTA. I rediscovered this fizzy orange beverage in Nandos a few weeks back and it has been my cold soft drink of choice ever since.

TV-wise this week I have been loving: Mad Dogs (New series - oh yeah!), Nashville (a guilty pleasure of mine) and the finale of Revenge series 2 (ohnygod too much drama too handle). Oh and obviously Made In Chelsea (I am that obsessed my English A Level coursework revolved around this programme)

My playlist this week?
Palma Violets - 180
Misty Miller - Lonesome Cowboy
Best Coast - Summer Mood
Saint Raymond - Fall At Your Feet
Ghostpoet - Meltdown
Stone Roses - I Wanna Be Adored

This week I have been re-reading The Adults by Alison Espach. For me this book is just perfect and I would definitely recommend it; especially if you are a fan of books like Lolita, A Certain Age and Catcher in the Rye.  My favourite quote from The Adults? Your childhood is always ending and your adult self is always beginning.

THIS WEEK I HAVE BEEN ADDICTED TO: Online shopping! My postman brings me presents everyday. He must think I have a slight problem or something.

So what have you been loving this week?
