OOTD: wished away entire lifetimes.

So today in the UK it was hot which is nice for the last day of the bank holiday but not so nice when you're working all day! Still, I managed to finish at five so I still had a couple of hours of the good weather so I just threw on this relaxed outfit (it was minus the cardi at first but it got a bit chilly!). You might notice this is another post featuring my leather look ASOS bralet...can you tell I like it?

CARDIGAN - Primark / SKIRT - Primark

This cardigan is ultra soft; it is just too cosy! They have this in a black version that I'm gonna try and get my mitts on next time I'm in Primark.

BRALET - asos

BAG - Primark

I found this bag recently after having a long overdue clear out of my room. It's a great size for when you don't need to carry much (nights out and gigs) and it goes really well with my RI patent boots.

 CUT-OUT BOOTS - River Island

Ahh these boots, these beautiful clunky chunky shiny pretty boots. Can you tell I like them?!

NECKLACE - Matalan

BRACELETS - Miss Selfridge, asos / WATCH - eBay

RINGS (left-right) - vintage, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, eBay, Kukee, Topshop

Just the usual selection of rings and things.

As always I hope you are all well and I hope you've all had a lovely bank holiday weekend. Rememeber you can follow me on bloglovin here to stay up to date with all my posts. The lyrics in the post title are from the Arctic Monkey's song R U MINE.

OOTD: Somebody told the stars you're not coming out tonight.

So outside it is raining and it seems to have been grey and drizzly since Friday evening (always fun when you have to bike to work). Now I was gonna go out tonight but I took one look at the weather and thought - na you're alright thanks. Anyway this is just an outfit post to show you what I was going to wear (hence the indoor quality)! Now this look is pretty sophisticated for me, as I usually like an oversized cardi, mini-dress and clunky boot combo but don't worry I tried to maintain my inner grunge goddess by wearing my ASOS faux leather bralet. I love monochrome style as you can tell from this outfit! Also, this is more or less an entirely Primark outfit which shows you can style the inexpensive to look luxurious.

BRALET - Asos

CAMI - Primark

TROUSERS - Primark

 LIPS - Revlon 'Raspberry Bite'

I found this lipstick in a bag I haven't used since Y11 (4 years ago!) and it's still in excellent condition, it's a really beautiful dark fuchsia creme lipstick and it might just be my new favourite for A/W.

I just love the cut out detail on the back of this cami top, I still can't believe it was only £4!

NECKLACE - Topshop

 HEELS - Primark

Oh these heels *swoon*, they could be from RI or Topshop but they are just plain old Primark. You can see the detail of these beautiful trousers in this photo too, I found these for £5 on a Primark sale rack....what!?

BRACELET - Miss Selfridge / RINGS (left - right) eBay, Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Vintage, Topshop, Kukee / NAILS - Barry M 'Blue Moon' & Technic 'Black Mirror'

 CLUTCH - Primark

As always I hope you are all well and please don't forget to follow me on bloglovin here if you haven't already! Oh and the lyrics in the title are from the Arctic Monkeys' song Black Treacle.

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST #4

So I've bought quite a few bits and pieces this past week (I'll do a haul post when they all arrive!) which means that I'm going to have to stall the spending for a while (or at least until I get paid next week) so I went and done another one of those wishlist things. 'Ere we go then...

So tartan's gonna be huge this A/W so I am stocking up now and I think this scrunchie is a great accessory for this coming season as it will just update simple outfits with just that tiny detail of trendy tartan. Now I love Marc Jacobs' fragrances and I really want to give this new one a go plus how cute is the packaging!? I want those Topshop sandals...nuff said. Ditto the jumpsuit. Oh my lord I need that map print dress in my life! Now how sweet is the ASOS bag with rabbit ears? I love the quilted design and it's perfect for times when you don't need to carry so much stuff.

SO WHAT'S ON YOUR WISHLIST THIS WEEK?

As always I hope you are all well!

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST #3

So it's Wednesday and to banish any midweek blues of mine I thought I'd do a wishlist; y'know because it's been almost a week since I did one.  It's pretty TOPSHOP heavy (once again) but then I am loyal to the things I love. I've also been wishing for a couple of items from Monki, I've never bought anything from Monki before so do any of you recommend it?

SO WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WISHING FOR?

OOTD: SUMMER ATTRACTION POUNDING IN MY VEINS.

Since the UK weather has been so gorgeous lately I thought I'd do an OOTD of one of my favourite everyday summer outfits. This pretty little River Island smock dress I got via ASOS.

DRESS - River Island / SUNGLASSES - Primark

I adore this dress. It's really lightweight so it's perfect for summer plus it's a smock style which I think is so flattering for my figure. The monochrome floral print is really easy to style and wear and I think it will be just as wearable in the Autumn with opaque tights, a biker jacket and some chunky boots.

PLANET NECKLACE - Kukee / CRYSTAL NECKLACE - Kukee

I might have become a little bit obsessed with Kukee jewellery as of late.

CONVERSE - Schuh

As I mentioned in my recent IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE post this dress really reminds me of that laidback retro L.A style which I think these converse ox really add to.

MOON RING - Kukee / AMBER RING - handed down / STACKED MIDI RINGS - eBay & Kukee / MOONLIGHT PINKY RING - eBay / SILVER BAND MIDI RING - Kukee / BLUE DRUZY RING - Kukee

I hope you are all well and having a pretty decent day! The lyrics in the title are from the song Those Dancing Days by Those Dancing Days.

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #4

The forth IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE. Okay, so it might not be the forth consecutive one (I missed last weeks - oops!) but none the less it is still the forth one. So I guess this post will be a collection of all the things I have been loving during the past two weeks. Here we go:

KASABIAN LIVE! Hell yeah. If you ever get the chance to see these guys live then take it! They really know how to get a crowd going. My highlight was L.S.F. it really got the crowd going and it was just mesmerizing to listen to!

GLASTONBURY. No I did not not go but still - ARCTIC MONKEYS HEADLINE SET.  Need I say more? Get on your dancing shoes. They were dressed to the nines and Alex Turner was channeling his inner-Elvis. It was a delight to watch and I would love to see them live someday but till then I'll just have to settle for watching them on the screen.

VINYL RECORDS. Call me old-fashioned but there ain't nothing like listening to music on vinyl, just watching that pretty plastic spinning around and hearing the background crackle is just bliss.

LA ROCHE-POSAY LIPKAR BAUME AP. So I have really irritable itchy skin on my legs and I have never found anything that soothes and protects them until I gave this a try. Basically this rebuilds and replenishes the damaged lipids in your skin and provides a barrier of protection to your skin. I highly recommend this if you are prone to itchy, irritated skin. I imagine I will be reviewing this in mire depth soon.

SKINS THE FINALE SERIES!
Skins Fire was Effy’s story. Effy is probably my favourite female Skins character with Cassie coming a close second (so I can't wait for her story in a couple of weeks). Basically the finale series is made of six parts centered around Effy, Cassie and Cook (with each character getting two parts) now they have shed their teenage selves. So in Skins: Fire grungy Effy was no more now she this cool, clever, more sophisticated and sexy version of what she was. I still love how Skins is filmed and scripted. It's kinda sad how it is ending but it is definitely the right time.

THIS DRESS!

It’s from River Island but I found it in the ASOS sale for £17.50. It’s floral and monochrome; one of my favourite combinations. Plus it’s a smock style which I find to be really flattering for my figure. It buttons all the way down so I’m pretty excited to style it unbuttoned over a pair of shorts and a vest. It also reminds me of that chilled, laidback L.A style which I really like.

THIS JEWELLERY COMBINATION:

WATCH - eBay / AMBER RING - My mum's / SILVER RINGS - Kukee / GOLD RINGS - eBay / NECKLACE - Kukee / SKULL BRACELET - eBay.

These are the pieces I've been mainly wearing these past few days. At the moment I prefer silver jewellery, It goes with more things plus it just looks more elegant and simple.

Okay so that's all I've been loving throughout these past two weeks! As always I hope you are all well and enjoying this glorious sunshine (ahh I love the scent of my skin sizzling in the heat).

WHAT HAVE YOU ALL BE LOVING LATELY?

'IT'S ALMOST PAYDAY' WISHLIST.

C'est wishlist time! So I am broke until next week (payday!) therefore till then I am only allowed to window shop and look at pretty pictures of the things I want in my life.

Another overly monochrome inspired wishlist but monochrome pieces are interchangeable and so easy to style. I think my favourites are the RI playsuit and the Rihanna for RI heels (but I think I might have to settle for the Primark dupes!)

SO WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WISHING FOR THIS PAST WEEK?

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #2

My second Friday favourites post (so far so good). So what have been my favourite things this week? Let's find out:

WHATE HAVE I BEEN WATCHING? Dates. A creation of Brian Elsey (skins, shameless) as part of Channel 4's Mating Season. Dates is a series of linked but separate mini-dramas about the blind dates of potential couples who have met via online dating. It is beautifully filmed, scripted and acted and it really is just a pleasure to watch because the cast are sublime and it feels so natural. I can't wait for it to continue next Tuesday. Watch it on 4oD here!

NAILS? Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Prickly Pear. I love this colour, it is the perfect shade of lilac for me with the added bonus of the gelly hi-shine finish. I have to admit though that as delicious as the shade is the name certainly is not - Prickly Pear? What are they and are they even lilac? Still, this nail varnish will be a summer staple for me.

CRUMBLED ROLO COOKIE ICE CREAM - Oh yes, the most simple dessert ever. All you need is some ice-cream (just basic vanilla) and some Rolo cookies (or any other kind - it is just as delicious with white choc chip) then you simply crumble your cookie over the ice-cream et viola deliciousness in a bowl!

SONG? Jagwar Ma - The Throw (listen here) This was the free iTunes download this week! I fell in love with this song about halfway through my first listen because it is so euphoric and summery. Jagwar Ma are a duo from Sydney and this particular song inspires the loose limbed style of dance made infamous by bands of that early-90's Madchester scene. I'm pretty pleased I found out about this band and it will definitely be getting a lot of play this summer.

THIS DRESS FROM ASOS. Oh yes, I have found my perfect every day summer dress for £17.50! It is a smock style which I think suits my body shape plus it's tie dye which I like a lot for the summer months.

THIS WEEK I HAVE BEEN READING - A Certain Age by Rebecca Ray. This is another re-read for me and it is of a similar nature to last week's book The Adults by Alison Espach. It is basically a coming of age novel about a fourteen year old girl as she deals with her relationships, alcohol, drugs, sex, self image and emotional and sexual abuse. It is quite a hard read but it feels natural and although the subject matter is extreme (fourteen year old having sex with a 27 year old man) it is still relatable and there is quite a bit of humour in it albeit dark. This is actually one of my favourite books just because it is so well written and does stay with you once read. This is from a child's perspective and does contain graphic language and imagery so if your not comfortable with that kind of thing then probably don't read it.

JUMPSUITS. I need one! How cute are jumpsuits, you can dress 'em up or down and they are just instant style. I think they are a great alternative to skirts. shorts and dresses in the summer and I am now on the hunt to find my perfect one.

SOAP&GLORY SUGAR CRUSH BODY WASH. This smells so bloody good. It smells like sugar and lime and just general loveliness. It's a fresh scent for summer and SOAP&GLORY body washes last me quite a number of months.

GETTING MY HAIR DONE. My hair is successfully dip-dyed / ombred now. Before it was just the bottom of my underneath layers that were bleached and it never properly blended in with the rest of my hair, but now my lovely hairdresser has blended all my hair in with a light caramel brown.

MAOM SWEETS. Mmmmm. I have demolished a bag of the chews and these are all that is left of the three bags bought yesterday...oops!

So what have you been loving this past week?

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST

So I've had a couple of days off work, which is great for my feet but not so much for my bank balance (I should really stop pressing 'click to buy'!)  I am going to try and lay off using my credit card for a few days (well at least till I get paid on Friday) so instead I've been window shopping and thought I'd do a quick wishlist.

Yup it's mainly Topshop related but I just can't resist. I think the harness bralet would look so cool with the mom jeans - ooh that with the boots, sunglasses and satchel would be an amazing outfit! I  really want a jumpsuit for summer and I am liking this Miss Selfridge one a lot. I love Topshop make-up, especially their cream blushes and I will definitely be picking another one up in the near future!

WHAT ARE YOU WISHING FOR THIS WEEK? / ARE YOU A FAN OF MOM JEANS? / WOULD YOU SPLURGE ON A CAMBRIGE SATCHEL?

OOTD: there's something about the summer.

Since the weather in the UK has been quite lovely lately (although today isn't the best) I thought I'd do another OOTD. Yes I know I am wearing all black and yes I know that black isn't that summery, but it is one of my favourite shades to wear and style! This is a pretty casual outfit but you could easily dress it up with some heels and a clutch.

CROP TOP - asos / MIDI SKIRT - eBay

SUNGLASSES - Primark

FLORAL HEADBAND - DIY / SKULL BRACELETS - eBay, asos / WATCH - eBay

LION CHAIN - eBay

RUCKSACK - eBay / CONVERSE - Schuh

Nail art! I love creating nail art and this is the first time I've done it in ages since I'm not meant to wear nail varnish for work (I do anyway though - shush!)

EYES - Rimmel Lash Accelerator / LIPS - Topshop 'Macaroon'

Hope you are all well!
