OOTD: Somebody told the stars you're not coming out tonight.

So outside it is raining and it seems to have been grey and drizzly since Friday evening (always fun when you have to bike to work). Now I was gonna go out tonight but I took one look at the weather and thought - na you're alright thanks. Anyway this is just an outfit post to show you what I was going to wear (hence the indoor quality)! Now this look is pretty sophisticated for me, as I usually like an oversized cardi, mini-dress and clunky boot combo but don't worry I tried to maintain my inner grunge goddess by wearing my ASOS faux leather bralet. I love monochrome style as you can tell from this outfit! Also, this is more or less an entirely Primark outfit which shows you can style the inexpensive to look luxurious.

BRALET - Asos

CAMI - Primark

TROUSERS - Primark

 LIPS - Revlon 'Raspberry Bite'

I found this lipstick in a bag I haven't used since Y11 (4 years ago!) and it's still in excellent condition, it's a really beautiful dark fuchsia creme lipstick and it might just be my new favourite for A/W.

I just love the cut out detail on the back of this cami top, I still can't believe it was only £4!

NECKLACE - Topshop

 HEELS - Primark

Oh these heels *swoon*, they could be from RI or Topshop but they are just plain old Primark. You can see the detail of these beautiful trousers in this photo too, I found these for £5 on a Primark sale rack....what!?

BRACELET - Miss Selfridge / RINGS (left - right) eBay, Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Vintage, Topshop, Kukee / NAILS - Barry M 'Blue Moon' & Technic 'Black Mirror'

 CLUTCH - Primark

As always I hope you are all well and please don't forget to follow me on bloglovin here if you haven't already! Oh and the lyrics in the title are from the Arctic Monkeys' song Black Treacle.

OOTD: BEETLEJUICE X3

So I succumbed and finally treat myself to the stripe Motel Rocks Penny dress and I am so glad I did; I bloody loves it I do. It reminds me of Beetlejuice (hence the title) but it is so easy to style for all seasons.

DRESS - Motel Rocks (via ASOS)

HEADBAND - Topshop / SKELETON EARRING - Kukee / DRUZY STUD - Primark (similar)

RUCKSACK - Primark

SOCKS - ASOS / BOOTS - DOC MARTENS (via eBay)

DINO CHAIN - Little Teacup Jewellery

Head in the clouds...as usual.

WATCH - Micheal Kors / SATCHEL - H&M / BOOTS - Matalan

This is how I styled the dress for a meal out, basically just switched by docs, watch and bag for this combination. I really like the clash of the stripes and the dalmatian print, I think it looks pretty cool because they are both monochrome.

As always I hope you are all well and if you haven't already then please remember to follow me on bloglovin here!

OOTD: YOU CAN'T SURVIVE ON ICE-CREAM.

So this heatwave is pretty amazing and apart from a little shopping in the morning I spent the whole of yesterday in the garden getting a tan. It was so hot yesterday that I couldn't take Ruby (the dog) out for a walk until it got a bit cooler in the evening. Whilst on the walk I found this ethereal ribbon tree that made such a pretty background for some OOTD shots.

 TOP - PRIMARK / SHORTS - PRIMARK  / SHOES - PRIMARK

I didn't realise until typing this that my entire outfit was from Primark! Since the top looks quite dressy what with the silver thread through it I thought I'd dress it down with some really basic monochrome dotted shorts. These are basically like running shorts plus they are super lightweight so they are perfect for this heat.

I haven't been wearing foundation much this week because it just ends up melting due to the heat (attractive.) so I have just been using my trusty Collection concealer under my eyes and over blemishes. I bought the Barry M mascara a couple of weeks back and I know it has had a few mixed reviews but I just love it.

The pretty ribbon tree. I don't know why but it reminds me of Florence & The Machine's 'Dog Days Are Over' video.

NECKLACE- KUKEE / ARMLETS - CHARITY SHOP / RUCKSACK - PRIMARK

Again I'm wearing my Kukee crystal necklace but it's just so simple to wear and I think I will be buying a couple of the other colours.

(If you were wondering about the lyrics in the title they're from The Kills 'Cheap and Cheerful')

Hope you are all well and having lots of fun in the sun.

OOTD: CHASING VISIONS OF OUR FUTURE.

The weather has been oh so nice which means ditching the layers and a lot more preparation to look summer ready I thought I'd share with you an everyday monochrome summer look that still looks sophisticated (well I like to think). For my outfit I kept it quite simple but I went quite grungy with my make-up so I basically combined my two favourite styles.

 CAMI TOP - Primark

I think there is something really beautiful about cami tops at the moment they fulfill the brief of underwear as outerwear without being too overtly sexy if that makes sense.

BRA TOP - Topshop

I think the back of this Primark cami is so gorgeous. It's a really sheer white chiffon that is really cool for the summer months and I mean that both aesthetically and functionally.

DAISY SPIKE HEADBAND - Topshop (sale)

Ahh daisy and spikes make a very pretty mix in my eyes.

SHOES - Primark

SHORTS - New Look (similar here)

(left-right) MOON CHARM RING - Kukee / AMBER RING - Handed down / MIDI RINGS - eBay & Kukee / PINKY RING - Matalan / CHUNKY MIDI RING - Kukee / DRUZY RING - Kukee / SKULL BRACELET - eBay / WATCH - eBay / NAILS - 'Big Hair' by Collection.

ARMLET'S - Charity Shop

Hope you are all well! If you were wondering the lyrics in the title are from Daughter's Youth.

OOTD: SUMMER ATTRACTION POUNDING IN MY VEINS.

Since the UK weather has been so gorgeous lately I thought I'd do an OOTD of one of my favourite everyday summer outfits. This pretty little River Island smock dress I got via ASOS.

DRESS - River Island / SUNGLASSES - Primark

I adore this dress. It's really lightweight so it's perfect for summer plus it's a smock style which I think is so flattering for my figure. The monochrome floral print is really easy to style and wear and I think it will be just as wearable in the Autumn with opaque tights, a biker jacket and some chunky boots.

PLANET NECKLACE - Kukee / CRYSTAL NECKLACE - Kukee

I might have become a little bit obsessed with Kukee jewellery as of late.

CONVERSE - Schuh

As I mentioned in my recent IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE post this dress really reminds me of that laidback retro L.A style which I think these converse ox really add to.

MOON RING - Kukee / AMBER RING - handed down / STACKED MIDI RINGS - eBay & Kukee / MOONLIGHT PINKY RING - eBay / SILVER BAND MIDI RING - Kukee / BLUE DRUZY RING - Kukee

I hope you are all well and having a pretty decent day! The lyrics in the title are from the song Those Dancing Days by Those Dancing Days.

'IT'S ALMOST PAYDAY' WISHLIST.

C'est wishlist time! So I am broke until next week (payday!) therefore till then I am only allowed to window shop and look at pretty pictures of the things I want in my life.

Another overly monochrome inspired wishlist but monochrome pieces are interchangeable and so easy to style. I think my favourites are the RI playsuit and the Rihanna for RI heels (but I think I might have to settle for the Primark dupes!)

SO WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WISHING FOR THIS PAST WEEK?

OOTD: Rock 'n' Roll sent us insane.

I have been such a bad blogger this past week (I haven't posted since last Friday - oops!) but I have been busy with work, still I will be a better blogger from now on and I have lots of posts planned I swear! It feels like ages since I did an OOTD (well it kinda is) so here you go! It's very monochrome which I like a lot at the moment in time.

CARDIGAN Topshop (via eBay) / CROP POLO eBay / NECKLACE Kukee / SKIRT h&m / BAG Matalan / SHOES Matalan

I took this last night before I went to see Kasabian live! Oh sweet lord they are so good live and I still can't hear in one ear! I've already seen them live back in 2009 and when I heard they were playing locally again, well, I just had to be there. It was so euphoric and you could feel the music like a heartbeat.

Lyrics in the title? Kasabian of course with Goodbye Kiss. Beautiful track.

Hope you are all well!

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #3

The third consecutive Friday I have done this kind of post which means I have been true to my word! So what things have I been loving since last Friday?

ESSIE FIJI. So I succumbed to all the beauty hype and bought this cult nail varnish. I have been wearing this shade all week so I must like it. I have to say I'm not a big fan of the application and it did take 3 coats to build the colour but I can't fault the finished product. The colour is beautiful - a milky pastel pink. Perfect for summer and it will go with most outfits. Lovely

ARCTIC MONKEYS - DO I WANNA KNOW? Oh my sweet lord! A new song! I died and went to heaven when I saw this on my YouTube subscription page. Arctic Monkeys have always been and always will be my favourite band and I really really fucking like this song a hell of a lot. It's heavier than the songs on 'Suck It And See', it's of a similar vein to R U MINE? which I also liked a hell of a lot. The lyrics are perfectly poetic as usual and delivered with Mr Turner's irresistible Sheffield twang. Tell you what instead of me passionately declaring my love for this band and their new song how about I just give you the link to it? CLICK HERE.

COMPANY MAGAZINE. New issue! This is the only magazine I buy monthly because I just all round like it. I like the layout, the colours, the paper, the photography and the articles. Plus Company place a great deal of focus on bloggers which I really admire. Each issue also has a different patterned spine which means the more you collect the prettier it looks on your shelf. How cute!

MY NAME ON A BOTTLE. Wow this marketing campaign is so simple yet so effective for Coca Cola. Of course we are all going to buy the drink if it has our name on it, I mean it would be rude not to. I rarely drink Coke and yet even I have bought a bottle. I won't be drinking it though, it will be a decoration on my shelf forever!

MONOCHROME! I have bought a hell of a lot of black and white wardrobe staples recently. I just love how easy monochrome is to style and wear. Plus monochrome is such a timeless trend. I'm really excited to mix and match all my monochrome pieces and clash prints.

KUKEE JEWELLERY. I am so glad I clicked on a link to this online jewellery store! Everything they sell is just so cute and quirky. From dinosaur pendants to planet rings to spike chokers and druzy rings. Plus most things are under £5, so it's really hard to stop clicking 'buy'.  I will be doing a blog post on everything I bought from there just as soon as my second order arrives so stay tuned for that. In the meantime click here if you wanna check Kukee out. The P&P is only £2.50 too, so you don't even get stung on delivery costs!

TOPSHOP 'INNOCENT' I think I bought this back in March and it is one lipstick that I wear at least twice a week. It's a really pretty dusky petal pink that has a velvety matte texture plus it's really creamy and moisturising. Ahh and just look at that packaging it looks so pretty.

And I guess this concludes another 'IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE'.

WHAT HAVE YOUR WEEKLY FAVOURITES BEEN? / DO YOU LIKE ANY OF THE THINGS I HAVE MENTIONED?

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST #2

Well it's been very warm today so I thought I'd do a quick summer wishlist, to banish those midweek blues I've been having over having to work when it's oh so lovely outside.

I'm really into monochrome patterns lately and I think that might show with this wishlist. You may also be able to tell that I'm liking H&M lately but I'm gutted the Aztec playsuit is sold out in my size online - damn. I am seriously considering splurging on my first ever Mac product because Candy Yum Yum is probably the brightest hue of pink I have ever seen; so it's the perfect colour to brighten up all my monochrome! I really like the Topshop tassle bikini but I can't justify buying it because my holiday destination this year is the Lake District and I don't imagine that a teeny tiny bikini would be too appropriate. The Miss Selfridge dotty monochrome maxi skirt is just too pretty but unfortunately it's sold out; still I'm hoping I will find an alternative to it online. I've never bought anything from Rock'n'Rose but after seeing both the ring and chain on Polyvore I am seriously tempted! I have been eying up the River Island faded skater skirt, it's just so pretty for the summer - in fact I reckon that it would look pretty cool paired with the H&M bralet and kimono.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WISHING FOR THIS WEEK?

MAY WISHLIST

Oh my is it already May? Time seems to be ticking oh so fast for me! Still with another month brings another wishlist...

Yeah as you can see this wishlist is pretty nail paint heavy but I love experimenting with nail colours in the summer because they instantly update my winter wardrobe. I am definitely going to be picking up a Model's Own Fruit Pastel shade because I love pastel shades and also they are scented polishes so you can sniff the scents (fruit scented) before you buy. I would like Essie 'Fiji' but I will be saving up my tips to buy this one because £8 of my own money just feels to extravagant.  I really, really want to give the Ciate chalkboard nails a go! You get a base of either white or black which provides a chalkboard effect and then you get four little chalk pens to draw on your nails with which you could either wipe away and start again or seal with a clear topcoat. I really like the idea of drawing chalk on your nails because it reminds me of being a little girl and drawing spirals and flowers on the path outside my house (semi permanent vandalism as I like to call it). As much as I like the idea of this polish, I think it could be a bit of a novelty product plus it's kind of on the pricey side. The set retails at £18 and I think it's exclusive to Selfridges.

I have wanted some Leigh jeans for ages because I have only ever heard good things about them but I am very picky about jeans as I struggle to find ones that fit me perfectly but I know the Leigh jeans are super soft and tight fitting; can anyone recommend them? I have fallen in love with the contrasting monochrome spotty Topshop t-shirt. I am really into monochrome clothes at the moment because they are so timeless and are just so easy to accessorise. I am liking Topshop a lot as of late and I could very easily purchase everything they sell. I am also really liking H&M (as you may be able to tell from most of my recent OOTD's) they have got a great summer range and the prices are so reasonable; I will definitely be grabbing the chain above if I see it instore because I love really clunky necklaces and the silver colour is just so classic.

Do those ASOS FRANCESCA sandals remind anyone else of being little? I had a similar pair in lemon when I was about five paired with a some frilly ankle socks; I think I would still rock that look today! Wow, with these sandals and the chalkboard nails I think I would be recreating my childhood in one look. Also from asos I would like the set of rings please! I love the look of fingers being adorned in gold hardware!

I need to eBay myself an Arctic Monkeys t-shirt because they are my favourite band and have been since I was eleven but I have always neglected to purchase myself one; oops!

Okay so I need that RIVER ISLAND floral suitcase in my life because come September I will be living away from home and I am going to be needing some stylish luggage material to cart all my things back and forth but I will inevitably end up with just your average black suitcase; a girl can only wish.

Mmmm the LUSH buublegum lip scrub just makes me want to lick my lips even thinking about it. I have never used a lip scrub before but I probably should. Are the Lush ones the best or can any of you suggest anything better?

So what are you all wishing for this month?

OOTD: FORGET EVERYTHING AND REMEMBER

OOTD

(SONG IN THE TITLE? - IAN BROWN - F.E.A.R)

It was quite nice weather outside today; a little bit windy but at least the sun was shining and the sky was blue. I went for a sunset dog walk when I got in from work tonight so I thought I'd get some pictures of my outfit since I haven't done an OOTD in a while.

biker jacker - eBay // Aztec skater dress - Primark // knee highs - Primark// pink Converse - eBay

I went for a monochrome colour scheme with just a pop of colour from my lipstick and Converse. The choice of knee highs and converse give a laid-back and playful kind of vibe while the jacket and gold spike choker necklace add a bit of edge.

cardigan - Topshop // necklace - eBay // lipstick- Lily Xtase (Rimmel)
