IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #12

So this is the almost weekly post in which I share with you all my favourite things from the past week. On with the favourites then...

ARCTIC MONKEYS - AM

Eeeeeek new album alert. If you are a regular reader of this blog you might of realised that I like Arctic Monkeys.....a hell of a lot, so you can imagine my excitement when Monday 9th September rolled around and the pre-ordered album arrived in the post. I love this album so effin' much! With each album their sound and songs always evolve into something new whilst maintaining that distinctive Arctic Monkeys sound and Alex Turner's lyrical poetry, and this new record has evolved into something slightly sleazy sounding...an after-dark album. I like their new heavier sound and I like the seventies suits and Elvis demeanor that Mr Turner is currently rocking plus the final track on the record is a version of John Cooper Clarke's I Wanna Be Yours.  If I was pushed for a favourite track I would say......um.....I CAN'T CHOOSE (sorry - not sorry!)

THESE SKORTS
Okay so I succumbed to all the fashion blog hype and picked myself up a pair of skorts off've eBay and I love them lots already. I got them in black because I just thought they'd be easier to style than the white. I really like how they look really sophisticated but how you can instantly grunge 'em up.

THIS JUICE
Mmmm, this tastes so good, it's refreshing and apple-y (well it is apple juice Amy!). There ain't all that much to stay about it apart from that it tastes gorgeous.

THIS BOOK

I have finally got round to reading Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar, I haven't finished it yet but I already know this is gonna be in my favourites list. It is semi-autobiographical (the names are all changed) of the author's decline into depression; I know it sounds a bit glum but then I like books like that.

As always I hope you are all well and don't forget you can follow me on bloglovin here to stay up to date with my posts! WHAT HAVE YOU ALL BEEN LOVING THIS WEEK?

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #10

So this is the weekly post were I tell you all my favourite things of this past week. I am so proud of myself for getting as far as post ten since usually I am such a lazy procrastinator so as sad as it may sound these regular posts feel like a sort of achievement for myself. Anyway on with the favourites...

THIS ALBUM
Swim Deep - Where The Heaven Are We?
Ahh this album feels so spacey but angsty and so laidback and slightly psychedelic and also fuzzy and grungy (yes it can be all these things...well to my ears!) I think this is a good late-summer album and it is a great soundtrack to travel to. Give it a listen because my ramblings probably don't do it any favours!

THIS DRESS

Boy, do I love this dress. It's a piece of clothing that really excites me, you know the kind of clothing that you have all kinds of ideas of how to style it in your mind. I'm looking forward to the coming Autumn season to wear this with tights and boots and jackets. It's from So Love Fashion and costs £15 - bargain!

ALL MY BOOKS IN ONE PLACE!

So I have joined the modern age and bought myself a kindle because well, I love books and my University accommodation for the next year will have little to none storage space for my hardbacks! I love it so very much already but I won't lie it doesn't come with that new book smell which is slightly disappointing.

THESE NAILS
You might've seen from my recent haul post that I bought a couple of Barry M polishes and this is one of them  - 'Blue Moon'. Blue Moon is a very light pastel seafoam blue which is so very pretty for the summer (although it's almost the end) and I've put my Technic 'Black Mirror' glitter polish just to finish my nails off. I just love this combination .

THESE BOOTS

I have been waiting for these boots to come back into stock for a couple of weeks so when I saw them back online I instantly snapped them up. They look cool in the summer with just bare legs and a dress but will look equally as cool in the A/W with tights and thick socks.

THIS BRALET

Okay so it may not look like much but for me this is such a wardrobe staple. It is look alike leather (a key trend for A/W) and it looks pretty cool layered beneath sheer shirts and cami's and I think it will look just as cool atop of jersey t-shirts. Yeah, I likes it a lot

So that's it for my weekly favourites, what have you been loving this past week? As always I hope you are all well and if you haven't already then please follow me on bloglovin here!

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #9

So this is my ninth IF.IIL! It's just a list of everything I've been loving to pieces this past week so 'ere we go my lovelies...

THIS NECKLACE...
Again this featured in my last haul but I couldn't resist including it here too because I just can't take it off've my neck! It feels so delicate and luxurious but the spike detailing adds a little bit of edge which I just find so beautiful.

THIS CONCOCTION...

I created this delight after a hard day at work the other evening. All you need is some ice-cream, toffee sauce, a cookie and marshmallows. Take your cookie crumble it over your ice-cream, throw on some toffee sauce and embellish with baby marshmallows et voila - happiness in a bowl.

WHIP IT
This is a coming-of-age film about an all girls roller-derbying team in Austin, Texas starring Ellen Page and directed by Drew Barrymore. I watched it the other day and just loved every second of it and I can't believe I hadn't seen it till this week! Ellen Page is basically this 17 year old girl living in a dead-end town and forced into pagents by her mother when all she wants to do is roller-derby in this bad-ass all girls team (even though she doesn't meet the age requirements). It's slightly predictable but if you enjoy films like Juno, Perks of Being a Wallflower and Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist then definitely give this a watch!

THIS RING!
I love dinosaur jewellery so as you can imagine I was joyous when I found this ring in H&M! There's not that much more to say apart from...
              . .
                                / `. .' \
                        .---. < > < > .---.
                        | \ \ - ~ ~ - / / |
                         ~-..-~ ~-..-~
                     \~~~\.' `./~~~/
           .-~~^-. \__/ \__/
         .' O \ / / \ \
        (_____, `._.' | } \/~~~/
         `----. / } | / \__/
               `-. | / | / `. ,~~|
                   ~-.__| /_ - ~ ^| /- _ `..-'
                        |     /        |     /     ~-.     `-. _||_||_
                        |_____| |_____| ~ - . _ _ _ _ _>

THIS BAG...

So you might of seen this Primark purchase in my recent haul, it looks like a highlighter but it's so cool. Every comment I've received since wearing this has been something along the lines of 'ooh you can see you coming', yup - it's that neon but I like it and it instantly brightens a simple outfit up.

STRAWBERRY & LIME KOPPERBERG...

Oh yes, heaven in a bottle. I like my fruit ciders in the summertime and this is my favourite after Rekorderlig Strawberry and Lime. It's so very refreshing and it has been my drink of choice as of late.

THIS SONG
Why'd You Only Call Me When Your High - Arctic Monkeys. Alex Turner's voice is just sublime on this track and hearing it just gets me all the more excited for the new album (pre-ordered already), it feels mellower than Do I Wanna Know but it's still just as 'after-midnight sexy'. Give it a listen.

SO WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN LOVING THIS WEEK?

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #8

So this is my eighth It’s Friday. I’m In Love…doesn’t time fly! I have been pretty busy working this week (only one full day off – sob) but I have still had a lot of time to find some favourites.  So let’s roll on with them…

BARGAIN BEAUTY BUYS
So I went on a rather unintentional shopping trip earlier this week to a lot of budget shops, and I will be putting up a full haul post tomorrow so look out for that but in the meantime I just thought I'd share with you my joy at finding a lot of stuff for little pennies. So if you do live in the UK I would definitely recommend checking out shops such as Boyes, Home Bargains and Poundland because you can often find a lot of good brands and discounted prices which is always a bonus for the old bank balance!

MY TELEVISION ADDICTIONS THIS WEEK:
Okay so I think from these IF.IIL  posts we have established that I am just a little bit obsessed with Skins but I promise after this post this is the last time you’ll hear me banging on about it! Anyway it was the last ever episode this past Monday and it ended with the final part to Cook’s story and it was epic. It was like a proper grown up gritty drama piece with sensational acting. It was somewhat heartbreaking to see Skins go but the story was perfect for Cook.
So if you live in the UK then you might have seen this advertised quite a bit as of late. It is shocking to watch, after all it is about an ex-soldier who goes on a violent shooting spree in the sleepy fictional seaside town of Southcliffe but it is also kind of brilliant. It jumps backwards and forwards in time quite a bit and uses a lot of close camera angles. Instead of doing the old cops and robbers ‘catch the criminal’ narrative the director chose to show us the reactions and consequences of a town ripped apart which makes for an altogether more real and hard-hitting viewing experience.
I’M ALAN PARTRIDGE. I LOVE Alan Partridge and all of this week I have been watching the old series repeats back. Personally I think Alan Partridge is British humour at its best and I might reference it all too much in real life.

Okay so I am gonna look like a total geek here (well I am) and say that I have been obsessed with a PS3 game called The Last Of Us; a zombie-apocalyptic game set in 2033. Now I have wanted to play this for ages after watching the full walkthrough on YouTube here (total geek alert.) but I have finally managed to play it properly. It's more of a movie than a typical video game and the characters and the plots are engaging and fresh plus the main character is a bad-ass fourteen year old girl who looks a lot like Juno. Yeah, I like it a lot.

MY GRANDAD'S BIRTHDAY!
So last Saturday it was my Grandad's birthday and so all the family went for a lovely family meal on the Friday. It was so nice catching up with my cousins before we all leave for University in September and it was so nice to see my Gran & Grandad enjoying themselves after having a pretty rubbish time of late. I do like a family get-together every now and then, even if it is just because my aunt is funny when she's pissed.

EAR CANDY.
RIZZLE KICKS - LOST GENERATION. I like the Rizzle Kicks okay. They made the trumpet cool again and I am liking their new song a hell of a lot. Lost Generation is really summery and really catchy.
FOALS - BAD HABIT. Oh I love this song to pieces, I love the whole album in fact - it is certianly a contender for my album of the year. This song in particular feels really dark but also really summery and I really like this contrast.
SWIM DEEP - KING CITY. This was my song of the summer last year and it probably still is for this year and I am so pleased they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.
LANA DEL REY - COLA. Okay this song is a little bit cheeky and it makes me giggle a bit everytime I hear the first line but I just love it. All Lana Del Rey songs seem to transport me to a convertible in the L.A sunshine and wearing some heart shaped sunglasses and this is totally a good thing in my eyes.
MILEY CYRUS - WE CAN'T STOP. Oh my am I admitting this? I cannot get this song out of my head - it is so bloody catchy. I can't stop singing it, damn you 2013 Miley for you catchy song and tough-girl attitude.

So that's it for another IF.IIL. I'm now going to play some more of The Last Of Us. What have you been loving this past week? Oh and of you haven't already then please follow me on bloglovin here and thankyou all so much for my 100+ followers this week I feel utterly honoured!

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #7

So since I skipped last weeks Friday
Favourites (I had no internet!) this one will be a selection of what I have been loving these past two weeks. So 'ere we go...

THIS DRESS FROM MOTEL ROCKS...
Oops, how did this end up in a recent ASOS delivery? I'll tell you how, it was quite discounted in ASOS' sale (even though it is still full price on Motel's website) I managed to get it for £31.50 and with ASOS's free delivery too! It is the stripe Penny smock dress and I have lusted after it for so long but I just couldn't handle the £45 price tag but when I saw it on sale I caved in. It is my favourite style of dress: smock. Plus it feels really nice on too...I just love it. Yes I am aware it looks very Beetlejuice.

MY TELEVISION VIEWING...
So since I am a telly addict I thought I'd share with you my TV highlights of late.
SKINS PURE PART II & SKINS RISE PART I. Yes, from these posts I think we have established that I like Skins but this finale series has been so bloody marvelous. The ending to Cassie's story was just beautiful and so perfect for her character and the beginning to Cook's story was so just fuckyeah! The start of Cook's story just feels so gritty and British and raw and it's Cook (oh I so would.) So yeah..check it out.
PHONESHOP. I have to say I have been loving the new series of this tellyprogramme quite a lot, it's been pretty funny.
DYNAMO: MAGICIAN IMPOSSIBLE - All I can say when I watch this show is 'WTF, WHAT?! HOW! IS HE JESUS THOUGH?!' It is mesmerising magic and Dynamo is just so super cool and laidback. He turned running water into ice and removed half of someone's tattoo. HOW!?
FAMILY GUY NEW SERIES. It's Family Guy. 'Nuff said.

RIMMEL 'BERRY QUEEN'RIMMEL 'LILY XTASE' & RIMMEL 'NOTTING HILL NUDE'...
These are the three lipsticks I have been wearing most of lately. 'Berry Queen' is a pinkish mulberry colour and 'Lily Xtase' is a super bright pink that is amazing to wear during the summer. Notting Hill Nude is all I've been wearing this week, I normally hate nude lipsticks but this one is so pretty to wear everyday. All of these lipsticks are part of Rimmel's Moisture Renew range, which is probably my favourite lipstick formula plus they are all super pigmented.

THE WORLD'S END
So this is the finale film of Edgar Wright's cornetto trilogy and like its predecessors this one did not disappoint. It is a genre mash-up of sci-fi and comedy with probably the best cast I've seen of a film all year (Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsdan and Martin Freeman). Yes it's silly, a town invaded by robots but Pegg's character is insistent on finishing the pub crawl he's dragged his childhood friends on, but it is smart. My personal highlight? Marin Freeman's character with a football for a head. The other two parts of this trilogy definitely place in my top twenty films and I think this one might just as well.

THIS CIDER ...
Cider is my favourite alcoholic beverage and fruit cider is especially delicious during the summertime. This Dark Fruits one by Strongbow is very nice indeed. It basically just tastes like cider and black but in a can so I don't have to go through all that effort of having to add my own blackcurrant. I would recommend this flavour if you are a fan of fruit ciders because it is very tasty and very refreshing.

SO WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN LOVING THIS WEEK MY DEARS?

As always I hope you are all well!

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #6

So this is the sixth Friday favourites; how scarily fast does time go?! I've spent most of this week at work which in this weather is torturous; I am so emerald eyed of the people I’m pouring ice-cold drinks for, I mean they get to just sit in the beer garden under the sunshine. Anyway let’s commence with my weekly favourites and that.

THIS KIMONO...

So you might have seen this in my recent haul post and if you haven’t then feel free to click here. I got this beauty off eBay for £11 in all which is a bargain for a decent Kimono (even Primark’s are retailing at £15). It is by the brand Innocence and I know this was an online exclusive from New Look (I'm not sure if they still have it though!) but the eBay one is quite a bit cheaper. I really like the cocktail of colours and this is a great summer investment piece and I am really excited to style it with things. If you want to get your hands on it then click here, plus the seller also stocks this monochrome aztec one here

SKINS: PURE PART I
So if you are a regular reader then you’re probably sick of me mentioning this programme but I just can’t help it! Skins Pure is all about Cassie (one of my fave characters and played by the beautiful Hannah Murray), stuck in a dead end waitressing job and all washed up in London she realises someone has been following her and taking her pictures. These photographs end up being very popular online and Cassie begins to enjoy being an object of desire and gives permission for her mysterious photographer to use her as his muse (she finds out it is the cook at the cafĂ© where she works). Once again it was filmed, scripted and acted beautifully and I have been thoroughly impressed with the finale series. If you fancy watching the series so far on 4od then click here.

TOPSHOP ‘BOOM BOOM’ LIPSTICK
Ahh such a standout summer shade for me. It is literally like BOOM (oh, hence the name). On the website Topshop describe it has ‘dusty pink’: nope, this baby is a pastel Barbie pink that just looks so girly but at the same time really edgy. I think this colour looks gorgeous with a plain black dress just to give a pop of colour

PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME...
I think this is such a love/hate sandwich filling for people, I love it but most people I know hate the idea of it. Jam (strawberry for me thanks) and peanut butter (crunchy all the way) on separate slices of bread and then put together et voila! Instant energy and all round deliciousness.

GLASS JARS
I am a sucker for packaging which is why I think I like storage so much, at the moment I can’t get enough of glass jars (or mason jars). I think they make really cute quirky storage facilities, as you can see my lipsticks live in one, as do a selection of nail polishes.

THAT HOLIDAY FEELING!
Tonight is my final shift at work before a week long family break in the Lake District. Okay so it isn’t Turkey or Italy or Southern France but the Lakes holds quite a lot of memories for me so I quite enjoy holidays there, plus with the weather like it is at the moment I am perfectly happy to spend my week off in England and not abroad.

So what have you all been loving this week?

As always I hope you are all well and please remember to follow me on bloglovin here!

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE # 5

Part five of my weekly Friday favourites. As I type this post I am sat basking in the wonderful summer heat in my back garden, ahh thank god it's my day off so this precious sun won't be wasted. Anyway let's get on with what I've been loving this week...

HERE COMES THE SUMMER
Yup, the sun and the warmth are one of my main favourites this week and I know it seems like us Brits are continuously debating and discussing the weather but when it's this nice then I am going to partake in such tradition.

SCOTT PILGRIM vs. THE WORLD

Oh my, did I fall in love with this film it is just the perfect mix. Michael Cera (one of my fave actors) + quirky geeky awkward comic book coolness = heaven. I am utterly ashamed of myself of not having watched this film until this week

MY HOMEMADE BREAKFAST BURGER
So I got home from work one day this week and all I wanted to eat was stodge so I combined my two favourite meals - breakfast and chicken burgers to create the breakfast burger mmm. All you need is some baked beans, crispy bacon, a fried egg, two chicken burgers and a breadcake and voila: c'est heaven in a breadcake. Oh and don't forget the onion rings! Trust me this is really good comfort food.

REKORDERLIG STRAWBERRY AND LIME CIDER.
Oh yes, this is my summertime drink it tastes divine and it's strawberry and lime: my favourite combination.

Since I am a self-confessed TV addict I thought I'd share with you some of my highlights from this week.
LUTHER- My favourite detective show because it is such a high octane thriller that actually made me perch upon the end of my sofa when I watched it this week.
SKINS: FIRE PART II - The concluding part to Effy's story and I was not disappointed. It made me cry and laugh and just be all round marveled at the filming, the script and the acting.
GEORDIE SHORE - Okay maybe I shouldn't admit this one but I can't help but love it. Yes it is trash TV at its worst (well in my eyes best) but lemme tell you once you start watching it you get hooked and you actually care about whether Gaz and Charlotte should be together or not.
PhoneShop - I have just finished watching series 1 & 2 on 4od in preparation for series 3 to arrive. I wouldn't say it is a must watch show but it is still plenty likable and perfect bath time viewing.

NOW FOR SOME EAR CANDY...

This is such a hauntingly beautiful song and it is the perfect soundtrack to accompany some of my inner-thought moments when I am walking and pretending to be in a film.
This was the free iTunes download of the week and sometimes these can be a bit hit and miss but this song I really like. It feels dark and moody but the beat makes you want to dance, possibly in slow motion under the strobes.
I put this on the other day and I’ve had it on repeat ever since. I really like re-listening to songs I haven’t heard for a bit. This EP is a collection of songs that are superbly written and delivered, and the lyrics really mean a lot to me.
A blast form the past but their tracks still sound as fresh today and I've been liking this track in particular this past week.
ARCTIC  MONKEYS - DO I WANNA KNOW? Okay yes this track was on my It's Friday. I'm In Love a week or so back but I cannot stop listening to it. It is poetry in a pop song. 'Nuff said.

RIMMEL OXFORD ST. FUCHSIA
This is the lippy I threw into my handbag this week and I have to say I have been loving it a lot. It is part of the Rimmel Moisture Renew family which is my favourite formula of lipsticks and it is this really gorgeous slightly bubblegum pink on the lips (although it looks more of a muted rose pink in the bullet). I think it's really fun and cute to wear in the daytime because you still get that pop of colour without it being too 'woah' and in your face. I found this lipstick for 99p in my local Boyes store but you can get them from eBay here for as cheap as chips!

Okay so I guess that would be a wrap on this edition of my Friday favourites so I am gonna go kick back in the sunshine with an ice cold fruit cider, yumyum. Hope you are all well!

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN LOVING THIS PAST WEEK?
