OOTD: FILL MY HEAD WITH THE FUTURE.

So this is my forth OOTD from my Lake District holiday, it might look pretty dull in the photographs but it was actually intensely warm! The lake is Windermere which I believe is the largest lake in England and as it goes my favourite one just because there are so many parts and places around it. Plus if it is gorgeous weather then it feels like you're in France or something!

TOP - Primark / DENIM SHORTS - Missguided / FISHNET SHORTS - DIY / SANDALS - eBay

I think this Primark cami top is so beautiful and with the silver threading in it I think it is a perfect day-night transitional piece. With this outfit I wanted to dress down the top so I paired it with my highwaisted shorts and flat sandals. I wanted to make the whole look a bit more punk and grungy so I did a quick bit of DIY with some old fishnet tights and a pair of scissors et viola!

HEADBAND - Topshop / EARRING - Kukee / NECKLACES - Kukee / BRACELETS - Dorothy Perkins

Oh it's that hairband again. I'm not even sorry for the amount of appearances it has made in my recent OOTD's.  My jewellery is just my usual planet chain and pink quartz chain from Kukee with my Kukee skeleton hand earring (they do come as a pair but I like to mix 'n' match my earrings).

RUCKSACK - Primark

This rucksack was my £5 Primark bargain from back in April. I like to wear this rucksack as my everyday bag because it gives quite a laid back vibe to my outfits which I like.

As always I hope you are well! Oh and please don't forget to follow me on bloglovin here. If you were wondering about the title of this post it is a lyric taken from the song Taste It by the very talented Jake Bugg.

OOTD: the temporary moments of a dream.

So I'm back home after a week long family holiday in the Lake District. The weather was glorious (apart from getting caught in one thunderstorm at the top of a mountain!) and I watched a lot of Gavin & Stacey. Anyway now that I am back home I have internet access... so I can blog again! I've got quite a few OOTD's from my holiday to share with you over the next couple of weeks and this is the first.

DRESS - Primark (similar) / NECKLACE - Kukee

So this is a dress I picked up in Primark ages ago for £5, now I've been admiring Motel's Catalina dresses for ages now and when I accidentally styled this simple dress in this way I was like - woah dupe alert!

SANDALS - Primark (similar) / NAIL VARNISH - Revlon 'Craving Coral'

I found these (or rather my darling mother did) for £5 in Primark and at first I wasn't sure about them but I honestly have not had these off my feet for the past week plus they are super comfy.

HEADBAND - Topshop / RINGS - Kukee / WATCH - eBay / NAILS - Revlon 'Minted' & 'Popular'

This is just my usual array of jewellery. I adore this Topshop headband, I found it for £3.50 in the sale and I can't take it off've my head...so expect most of my upcoming OOTD's to feature it.

As always I hope you are all well! Oh and the title is from You Belong To The World by The Weeknd.

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE #6

So this is the sixth Friday favourites; how scarily fast does time go?! I've spent most of this week at work which in this weather is torturous; I am so emerald eyed of the people I’m pouring ice-cold drinks for, I mean they get to just sit in the beer garden under the sunshine. Anyway let’s commence with my weekly favourites and that.

THIS KIMONO...

So you might have seen this in my recent haul post and if you haven’t then feel free to click here. I got this beauty off eBay for £11 in all which is a bargain for a decent Kimono (even Primark’s are retailing at £15). It is by the brand Innocence and I know this was an online exclusive from New Look (I'm not sure if they still have it though!) but the eBay one is quite a bit cheaper. I really like the cocktail of colours and this is a great summer investment piece and I am really excited to style it with things. If you want to get your hands on it then click here, plus the seller also stocks this monochrome aztec one here

SKINS: PURE PART I
So if you are a regular reader then you’re probably sick of me mentioning this programme but I just can’t help it! Skins Pure is all about Cassie (one of my fave characters and played by the beautiful Hannah Murray), stuck in a dead end waitressing job and all washed up in London she realises someone has been following her and taking her pictures. These photographs end up being very popular online and Cassie begins to enjoy being an object of desire and gives permission for her mysterious photographer to use her as his muse (she finds out it is the cook at the cafĂ© where she works). Once again it was filmed, scripted and acted beautifully and I have been thoroughly impressed with the finale series. If you fancy watching the series so far on 4od then click here.

TOPSHOP ‘BOOM BOOM’ LIPSTICK
Ahh such a standout summer shade for me. It is literally like BOOM (oh, hence the name). On the website Topshop describe it has ‘dusty pink’: nope, this baby is a pastel Barbie pink that just looks so girly but at the same time really edgy. I think this colour looks gorgeous with a plain black dress just to give a pop of colour

PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME...
I think this is such a love/hate sandwich filling for people, I love it but most people I know hate the idea of it. Jam (strawberry for me thanks) and peanut butter (crunchy all the way) on separate slices of bread and then put together et voila! Instant energy and all round deliciousness.

GLASS JARS
I am a sucker for packaging which is why I think I like storage so much, at the moment I can’t get enough of glass jars (or mason jars). I think they make really cute quirky storage facilities, as you can see my lipsticks live in one, as do a selection of nail polishes.

THAT HOLIDAY FEELING!
Tonight is my final shift at work before a week long family break in the Lake District. Okay so it isn’t Turkey or Italy or Southern France but the Lakes holds quite a lot of memories for me so I quite enjoy holidays there, plus with the weather like it is at the moment I am perfectly happy to spend my week off in England and not abroad.

So what have you all been loving this week?

As always I hope you are all well and please remember to follow me on bloglovin here!

OOTD: YOU CAN'T SURVIVE ON ICE-CREAM.

So this heatwave is pretty amazing and apart from a little shopping in the morning I spent the whole of yesterday in the garden getting a tan. It was so hot yesterday that I couldn't take Ruby (the dog) out for a walk until it got a bit cooler in the evening. Whilst on the walk I found this ethereal ribbon tree that made such a pretty background for some OOTD shots.

 TOP - PRIMARK / SHORTS - PRIMARK  / SHOES - PRIMARK

I didn't realise until typing this that my entire outfit was from Primark! Since the top looks quite dressy what with the silver thread through it I thought I'd dress it down with some really basic monochrome dotted shorts. These are basically like running shorts plus they are super lightweight so they are perfect for this heat.

I haven't been wearing foundation much this week because it just ends up melting due to the heat (attractive.) so I have just been using my trusty Collection concealer under my eyes and over blemishes. I bought the Barry M mascara a couple of weeks back and I know it has had a few mixed reviews but I just love it.

The pretty ribbon tree. I don't know why but it reminds me of Florence & The Machine's 'Dog Days Are Over' video.

NECKLACE- KUKEE / ARMLETS - CHARITY SHOP / RUCKSACK - PRIMARK

Again I'm wearing my Kukee crystal necklace but it's just so simple to wear and I think I will be buying a couple of the other colours.

(If you were wondering about the lyrics in the title they're from The Kills 'Cheap and Cheerful')

Hope you are all well and having lots of fun in the sun.

OOTD: CHASING VISIONS OF OUR FUTURE.

The weather has been oh so nice which means ditching the layers and a lot more preparation to look summer ready I thought I'd share with you an everyday monochrome summer look that still looks sophisticated (well I like to think). For my outfit I kept it quite simple but I went quite grungy with my make-up so I basically combined my two favourite styles.

 CAMI TOP - Primark

I think there is something really beautiful about cami tops at the moment they fulfill the brief of underwear as outerwear without being too overtly sexy if that makes sense.

BRA TOP - Topshop

I think the back of this Primark cami is so gorgeous. It's a really sheer white chiffon that is really cool for the summer months and I mean that both aesthetically and functionally.

DAISY SPIKE HEADBAND - Topshop (sale)

Ahh daisy and spikes make a very pretty mix in my eyes.

SHOES - Primark

SHORTS - New Look (similar here)

(left-right) MOON CHARM RING - Kukee / AMBER RING - Handed down / MIDI RINGS - eBay & Kukee / PINKY RING - Matalan / CHUNKY MIDI RING - Kukee / DRUZY RING - Kukee / SKULL BRACELET - eBay / WATCH - eBay / NAILS - 'Big Hair' by Collection.

ARMLET'S - Charity Shop

Hope you are all well! If you were wondering the lyrics in the title are from Daughter's Youth.

IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE # 5

Part five of my weekly Friday favourites. As I type this post I am sat basking in the wonderful summer heat in my back garden, ahh thank god it's my day off so this precious sun won't be wasted. Anyway let's get on with what I've been loving this week...

HERE COMES THE SUMMER
Yup, the sun and the warmth are one of my main favourites this week and I know it seems like us Brits are continuously debating and discussing the weather but when it's this nice then I am going to partake in such tradition.

SCOTT PILGRIM vs. THE WORLD

Oh my, did I fall in love with this film it is just the perfect mix. Michael Cera (one of my fave actors) + quirky geeky awkward comic book coolness = heaven. I am utterly ashamed of myself of not having watched this film until this week

MY HOMEMADE BREAKFAST BURGER
So I got home from work one day this week and all I wanted to eat was stodge so I combined my two favourite meals - breakfast and chicken burgers to create the breakfast burger mmm. All you need is some baked beans, crispy bacon, a fried egg, two chicken burgers and a breadcake and voila: c'est heaven in a breadcake. Oh and don't forget the onion rings! Trust me this is really good comfort food.

REKORDERLIG STRAWBERRY AND LIME CIDER.
Oh yes, this is my summertime drink it tastes divine and it's strawberry and lime: my favourite combination.

Since I am a self-confessed TV addict I thought I'd share with you some of my highlights from this week.
LUTHER- My favourite detective show because it is such a high octane thriller that actually made me perch upon the end of my sofa when I watched it this week.
SKINS: FIRE PART II - The concluding part to Effy's story and I was not disappointed. It made me cry and laugh and just be all round marveled at the filming, the script and the acting.
GEORDIE SHORE - Okay maybe I shouldn't admit this one but I can't help but love it. Yes it is trash TV at its worst (well in my eyes best) but lemme tell you once you start watching it you get hooked and you actually care about whether Gaz and Charlotte should be together or not.
PhoneShop - I have just finished watching series 1 & 2 on 4od in preparation for series 3 to arrive. I wouldn't say it is a must watch show but it is still plenty likable and perfect bath time viewing.

NOW FOR SOME EAR CANDY...

This is such a hauntingly beautiful song and it is the perfect soundtrack to accompany some of my inner-thought moments when I am walking and pretending to be in a film.
This was the free iTunes download of the week and sometimes these can be a bit hit and miss but this song I really like. It feels dark and moody but the beat makes you want to dance, possibly in slow motion under the strobes.
I put this on the other day and I’ve had it on repeat ever since. I really like re-listening to songs I haven’t heard for a bit. This EP is a collection of songs that are superbly written and delivered, and the lyrics really mean a lot to me.
A blast form the past but their tracks still sound as fresh today and I've been liking this track in particular this past week.
ARCTIC  MONKEYS - DO I WANNA KNOW? Okay yes this track was on my It's Friday. I'm In Love a week or so back but I cannot stop listening to it. It is poetry in a pop song. 'Nuff said.

RIMMEL OXFORD ST. FUCHSIA
This is the lippy I threw into my handbag this week and I have to say I have been loving it a lot. It is part of the Rimmel Moisture Renew family which is my favourite formula of lipsticks and it is this really gorgeous slightly bubblegum pink on the lips (although it looks more of a muted rose pink in the bullet). I think it's really fun and cute to wear in the daytime because you still get that pop of colour without it being too 'woah' and in your face. I found this lipstick for 99p in my local Boyes store but you can get them from eBay here for as cheap as chips!

Okay so I guess that would be a wrap on this edition of my Friday favourites so I am gonna go kick back in the sunshine with an ice cold fruit cider, yumyum. Hope you are all well!

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN LOVING THIS PAST WEEK?

OOTD: SUMMER ATTRACTION POUNDING IN MY VEINS.

Since the UK weather has been so gorgeous lately I thought I'd do an OOTD of one of my favourite everyday summer outfits. This pretty little River Island smock dress I got via ASOS.

DRESS - River Island / SUNGLASSES - Primark

I adore this dress. It's really lightweight so it's perfect for summer plus it's a smock style which I think is so flattering for my figure. The monochrome floral print is really easy to style and wear and I think it will be just as wearable in the Autumn with opaque tights, a biker jacket and some chunky boots.

PLANET NECKLACE - Kukee / CRYSTAL NECKLACE - Kukee

I might have become a little bit obsessed with Kukee jewellery as of late.

CONVERSE - Schuh

As I mentioned in my recent IT'S FRIDAY. I'M IN LOVE post this dress really reminds me of that laidback retro L.A style which I think these converse ox really add to.

MOON RING - Kukee / AMBER RING - handed down / STACKED MIDI RINGS - eBay & Kukee / MOONLIGHT PINKY RING - eBay / SILVER BAND MIDI RING - Kukee / BLUE DRUZY RING - Kukee

I hope you are all well and having a pretty decent day! The lyrics in the title are from the song Those Dancing Days by Those Dancing Days.

KUKEE HAUL

So I have only recently become aware of Kukee but I am so glad I did! Kukee is an online jewellery store that sells quirky jewellery at very reasonable prices (most items are under £5).

This is what I purchased on my first visit to the site. As you can see all items are individually packaged with cute little stickers. I was also sent a gift with this purchase (because I spent over £10 excluding postage), a delicate silver above knuckle ring which I thought was really lovely. A lot of the items are handmade too which is a really nice touch.

PLANET CHAIN - £2.50 / TURQUOISE DINO CHAIN - £3.50

 SKELETON HAND EARRINGS - £1

So I might have bought a handful of rings...

MIDNIGHT BLUE DRUZY RING - £2.50

SILVER THICK BAND ABOVE KNUCKLE RING - £1.50

DANGLY PLANET RING - £1 / SILVER ABOVE KNUCKLE RING - FREE GIFT

This is what I purchased second time round.

BROTHER MOON RING - £1

WHITE SQUARE DRUZY RING - £1

 ROSE QUARTZ CHAIN - £3.50

MOON ROCK CHAIN - £4

I absolutely adore each item I have purchased from Kukee. Everything is wearable with all of my clothes plus they all work really nicely together. A few of the pieces remind me of Black Tied jewellery (rose quartz necklace especially) but at a much cheaper price!

If you haven't ever visited Kukee then definitely click here to check it out; I don't think you will be disappointed! At the moment you can get an extra 15% off sale items at the checkout with the code SUMMER. Plus you can get 10% everything in the new in category every Friday with the code tgif10 at the checkout.

Hope you are all well and I am hand on heart sorry that I haven't blogged for almost a week, I brownie promise I will be better from now on!
